GTX 570 Twin Frozr ii Vs. ASUS 570 (not DCUii)

I just wanted to know is there a substantial difference between the two cards in terms of overclocking? Where i live, a 570 is $400 and a twin fozr ii is $460. Which one do you recommend? There is also this but i don't haven't seen any reviews or benchmarks of how it performs and overclocks.

I am not aware of any hard statistics for this comparison.

Anyway, I surveyed the top 90 World Ranking of 3DMark11 Vantage Performance Scores with a single GTX570.
Many people do not identify the name of the card manufacturer. But for those who do name it, I see 5 Asus (reference cooling) vs 10 MSI (of which 3 use of Twin Frozr II and the other 7 use reference cooling).

For these 5 Asus with reference cooling, OC speed are: 1005, 1001, 950, 921, 826 (ave=941)
For the 3 MSI with Twin Frozr II, OC speed: 1015, 980, 945 (ave = 980)

Whether this 49MHz is 'substantial difference', you can decide for yourself.

That Gigabyte is a good one too. I suppose this and the MSI Twin Frozr will excel more in their temperature number than in their ultimate overclock speed.

Thanks for the reply windfire. I just found out about the GTX 570 Phantom by gainward, that looks like a card within my budget, which also has custom cooling. Any thoughts on the Phantom?

The Phantom is great, very quiet and cool. By the way, how much more is the DCII over the reference one?

I can't really say much performance-wise.

But temp-wise, it's proven that the twin frozr II is better. Linustechtips did a comparison on them alongside the reference cooler

Do think paying an extra $30 for the Frozr is worth it?
Linus is mad

I lost 2 570 twin frozrs, they are being rma'd ....they are great gpus...beat 580s stock, but be careful adding too much voltage.....
Having said that, our Forum Wars team lost 5 570s.....so I'd stay away from 570s all together if you want someting to last.

So you don't suggest OC'ing a 570?
My power phase is 12+2 if that helps.

to be honest...they are fast at stock....but I don't know how long they'll last with max OC and voltage.
