X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro Not Found

Thread Starter
I know there's a million threads like these strewn out across the internet, but after trying many different things, I'm still not getting any closer to a solution.

I try and install the XFTI_PCDRV_LB_2_17_0008 drivers I downloaded from Creative's page and I get a error saying, "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system..."

My motherboard is the Asus P67 Maximus IV (B3). I have a VGA card installed, and I've tried putting the card in every port except the X1 one... it's being blocked by the VGA card.

I've uninstalled the Realtek drivers.

I've disabled on board sound in the BIOS.

I've tried installing Daniel K's drivers, but I get the same message! Bah! I thought for sure that one would work.

I tried executing the Product Identification Module Update executable, but I got a message saying I needed to be running Windows 7... which I am.

I've tried running things as Vista SP2.

I noticed when I uninstalled the realtek drivers, Windows found new hardware and did it's thing, but it was way too fast for me to stop (new computer, 2600k... yeah, you try beating Windows booting up to the punch ). I haven't been able to get those results anymore. Apparently it was successful though, just not completely.

EDIT: Just tried DriverSweeper too. No luck.

Tried. First, the zip file seems corrupt, and second, I still get the error. See that thread for more details =P

God I hate creative drivers. I always recommend other sound cards like Asus Xonar Essence STX/ST or HT Omega just because of this. GL with your search

Mine was too, but you can grab the contents of the ZIP file elsewhere. Main thing you need is the "3. Win7 Detection -for SB X-Fi Titanium ONLY" Also, I had detection errors still as well, but his red text turned out to be true for me:

If you still have detection problems, repeat the previous step (installing drivers). Sometimes the drivers need to be installed after windows detection program is ran. This repeated step does NOT need to be in safe mode.
