how to reproduce services such as OnLive?

Well i was thinking about setting up a work computer for myself, as i like to travel. I was thinking of getting a big ass laptop which had good insides, but then i thought about the use of having a laptop if it weighs 5kg.

So now my thoughts are : I have a pretty good stationary pc, and a 500mbit internet connection. Now could i set up something like OnLive for private use, to say access work and game applications from say a netbook or atleast a small notebook?

you could use a remote desktop app like teamviewer or the built in windows one combined with windows live mesh, however currently there are not any that support 3D apps to my knowledge... it takes a whole lot of power to actively encode a live video feed...

So what kind of the computers do the guys @ onlive and other game stream services have? A few thousand high powered server blocks? :/

I tried the same concept. You would need a high end connection, with a very good upload, and you would need to find a program that supports 3D Rendering. Are you sure you have a 500 MBit upload? Or is that your LAN speed?

The closest thing I have found is eVGA PCoIP, but that doesn't work as your original post.

I dont have a 500mbit upload, but i do have a 500mbit connection, and thats not the lan speed. Its the fastest internet connection we can get here in LV.

Anyways, there must be some way to set up some servers like onlive and streammygame have.

Do a speedtest.net and show us your internet speeds.
