R.A.T. 7 Problems

Thread Starter
When I got my Cyborg R.A.T. 7, I thought this would be the perfect mouse for my Windows 7 PC. I installed the latest drivers and software, and set the mouse up perfectly to fit the way I game (claw style).

Everything seemed fine, until I noticed a few things:

The R.A.T. 7 shows up in "Safely Remove Hardware"
In Windows 7 x64 it takes up to 20 seconds after boot for the mouse to initialize and move.

The last part was the reason my R.A.T. 7 sits on a shelf, and watches my trusty G5 do all the mousing work.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so have you found a way to fix any of these anomolies?

However, in sharp contrast, when I plug the Cyborg R.A.T. 7 into my Windows XP machine, the mouse initializes almost instantly when plugged in, and does not show up in the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon.

So am I to assume the R.A.T. 7 is not (exactly)Windows 7 compliant?

It's working fine on my Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit here. That part where it shows up in "Safely Remove Hardware" is normal, just ask anyone in the R.A.T. 7 club but it shouldn't take 20 seconds to initialize. Mine took maybe a couple of seconds at the most.

Open up MSCONFIG and look in Startup tab, tell us what do you have in there that runs at startup.

First thing, let me thank you for the responses.
Ok, here is what I have at Startup:

Logitech GamePanel Software (LgDevAgent)
Logitech GamePanel Software (LCDMon)
Logitech GamePanel Software (LGD Core)
Microsoft Security Client
Logitech SetPoint
Saitek SD6 Software
Configuration Software (Saitek)
Steam
Catalyst® Control Center(AMD)
IAStorIcon(Intel)
MalwareBytes Anti Malware

That's all for what's in my Startup.
Let me know if I should change anything, get rid of useless startups etc.
I hope to be able to use this cool mouse in Windows 7.
Thanks again.
^ I have all of that plus a lot more except the Logitech and MalwareBytes, You could try disabling those and see if its one of them causing the delay in the Saitek drivers but if it is I wouldn't know what to do other than not use them.

EDIT - I'm using Driver Version 7.0.0.26 for my RAT7 by the way.

This gives me a good reason to remove the "SetPoint" from Startup, but the first 3 Logitech GamePanel ones are for the G19(Keyboard).
You can leave the G19 software there but I'd get rid of Steam, IAStorIcon & MalwareBytes. You don't really need them at startup (just run them manually when you need it).

Mine was the same, if the mouse was left too long it would go to sleep and take 15 seconds to wake up. In the end I found it was just not seeing my Icemat, which is glass with a black backing. On a piece of paper the mouse woke up in just a second. I bought a new Razer Scarab mat and that cured the problem.

Try a plain piece of paper with yours.
