Total price would be like 450 with shipping included. Is it a good deal?

Fanboyism is what that is. If you find one from another manufacturer that is cheaper, +/= the specs, I will be more than happy to get that one instead.

I'm not sure it was a fanboy type of thing..mostly people saying that they are the laptops sent in for service most often..but in my experience, Acer is the worst

I will take a look for you though, see what is available on the Egg! Lenovo and Dell seem to be the most trusted in this price range.

Or experience....

If 25 out of 30 people that owned an HP lappy complain about heat issues, I would think twice about getting an HP.

Not to get off topic in my own thread, nor do I wish to argue the subject, but people who have issues with one company or another, it's because that just so many people have them. HP is the number 1 manufacturer of laptops in the USA. Surely there are going to be MORE issues seen and heard about. Then it becomes one big negative karma cesspool about how HP is bad. My question is, how many of these issues are user error? No way to tell. I treat my toys all with the best of care. That being the case, there shouldn't be an issue.

User error? I wouldnt count overheating with stock settings as user error. Then theres the issue of them breaking over the first year or two. No matter how well you treat your laptop you cant fix bad q/c. Lemons are to be expected with every company, but hp is a different story. Have fun with your 1 year limited warranty through hp.
