"Close Combat" - A Corsair 650D Water Cooled Build - Page 4

Its a small world Krymore. I was at MALS-14 AVI 610 from 1998 until 2002. My secondary MOS was that of a CASS OP/Maintainer as well...crazy!

Good job on the build. The 650D is on my short list for my next build, hope it goes well.

Semper Fi and welcome to OCN. Yeah I unboxed the case, its quite spacy for a mid tower. Yeah this build is driving me crazy. I keep reading the mobo isnt that great and that water cooling is not really needed for sandy bridge cpu because they run cool. Its driving me crazy lol.

The speed vs temp of SB is quite impressive.

Low noise levels are important for me so my case has been outfitted with 2 Nexus Basic 120mm front intakes, a single Nexus Basic push on the Hyper 212 and a single Nexus Basic quasi-pull on the rear panel exhaust and the 4.5GHz OC still sits at low 60's full load. I can probably drop it with manual OC'ing vs the Asus autotune. I've read that the autotune doesn't really optimize Vcore levels, but i haven't looked into it deeply.

The point is that temps are still acceptable with low CFM fans.

By the way, have you looked into the 2x radiator ECO C240 for CPU cooling?

I can't wait to see this thing in action.

Does anyone have an up-to-date sleeving tutorial for MDPC style sleeve?

I used a combination of tutorials:

http://www.overclock.net/case-mods-general-discussion/2691-psu-sleeving-guide.html

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=202639

and youtube videos

If you buy sleeving from mdpcx, Niles provides you with a nice tutorial

I'm planning on doing a water-cooled 650D build sometime in the summer, so definitely subbing this.

Love the color scheme choice. The sleeving looks pretty nice to me.
