I do agree that Computer Kits from Tiger and newegg are little more than a bunch of junk shoved into a box. However, They are a really good idea for first time builders that want to get their feet wet in building. My first build was a kit from Tiger Direct. It still runs today. It is about to be an upgrade to my son in place of his Pentium 4 Dell. It is a good running machine.

Definitely go with XDs suggestion on that mobo+cpu combo.

As for the RAM.... If you care about aesthetics, blue ram on a red/black mobo might look weird

You can get ripjaws 1600MHZ for ~$48. $3 to look good while doing it

That's what the "AMD Motherboard VRM Info" thread (see sig) is for
Me and reflex collab'd on it; it contains everything, from amount of phases to transistor info (where applicable) to TDP support to overall quality info.
