This demo is not nessecarily the final product release or Quality of the software itself. THINK again. The release will be different than what we tried in the demo. I don't wanna lecture again.
Yes, I read it. I know what Crytek says it is, but as I said in my post, I view the demo as a chance to try out the game. That's the whole point of DEMOING a game, is it not? As I said, I guess Crytek wanted a demo out and was willing to rush it. To me though, that turns me off from the final release regardless of promised updates. BC2 has a similar issue, though its beta did get better and less glitchy as time went on.

Unimpressive, absolutely. Especially when you take into account that DirectX-9 dates back to 2002. A multi-million triple-A title in 2011 is using, and at this point, using DirectX-9 and only DirectX-9, a decade old API. To get your head around this, back in 2002, GeForce3 cards were a hot item, GeForce4 line up was being launched and Quake 3 was still a hot and widely played gaming title.

On EDIT: Oh, yeah Windows XP was a brand new operating system back in 2002.

funnily enough, the leaked beta actually had broken dx11 files included in it. it also had the sandbox 3.

Either way, the game looks amazing in dx9, and my graphics card wouldnt be able to handle dx11 anyway. so IDGAF

Well, I guess it is safe to say now that I am very impressed with the gloves textures. In the category of hands wrapped around a gun Crysis 2 beats BF3 anyday!
