Do I just use prime95 and make sure there are 8 threads running and just run blend test overnight?

I like to run 20 runs of LinX, a few hours of prime95 small fft, and finish up with a blend test overnight. LinX is the fastest way to find instability, although if it does fail you won't really know why. At least with prime95, small fft is usually cpu vcore related, and blend test is usually memory or CPU VTT (or QPI/DRAM depending on bios term) voltage.

2-4 hours of prime95 blend and 50 run of intel burn or linx on high...and then use the computer...you'll know when its not stable.

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded linx and not sure what does what on the interface.

So set to 20 run and how much problem size? 10k? with maybe 3+ gigs of memory? I could do 4gigs since its fresh install of 7-64 bit so doesnt use a gig of ram on default currently.

Small fft you say few hours. 3 hours suffice or should I go longer?

Just set it to max memory. Close all background applications beforehand.

3 hours of small fft is plenty. If you want to run all the iterations of blend, you need 10 hours on the default 15 minute interval. I usually run a custom test in p95, where I set the interval to 10 minutes but leave the default blend settings, so it would only take 6 hours and 40 minutes to go through all the iterations. I've seen an OC fail on pretty much any iteration, so I would definitely recommend passing every single one. 2 - 4 hours of blend is not enough on stock settings, and I wouldn't run much more than 25 passes of LinX.

Rep+ Thank you!
I'll try that. so I'll select custom
Min fft to 8 / Max to 4096
and put as much ram amount as I can
and set the time to run each fft size to 10minutes

I'll sleep like maybe 8 hours and wake up and hope that my pc is running the stress test without errors?

Yea select custom and change the interval to 10 minutes. I've never messed with the RAM amount. I only increase the amount of memory used in LinX.

If all goes well, when you wake up the test will still be running. If one or more workers failed, you get a rounding error, or you crashed at some point, then you're unstable.

While you are here I have a question. Is there a way for you to share your bios settings to me or is it Private
I'm curious to see what others have. I tried the ones that has posted on my motherboard's club thread and it didn't work so good

My curiosity always directs me to QPI data rate link, Should I ALWAYS leave that one to Smallest Value? Ignoring Slow mode right?

You should always leave the QPI on the smallest rate and ignore slow mode, correct. Also make sure your uncore multiplier is double your RAM speed, so like if you're running 1600mhz then it should be 3200mhz.

I run something along the lines of (don't know exact values, on my netbook atm):
CPU voltage: 1.2875v
QPI/DRAM: 1.34xxv
CPU PLL: 1.74xxv
I think other voltages on auto.
Then I run 200 x 21 to get 4.2ghz, memory is at 2000mhz 9-9-9-27-88-1T at the stock 1.6v. Uncore is double that at 4000mhz, and my QPI link is at the lowest setting that isn't slow mode. My 920 is an okay clocker, so you may need a little or a lot more voltage depending on how good your chip is.
