Modding a mouse (RAT5)...need help

Hello OCN, I need help

first the story, this is my beloved RAT5

I love the mouse, the look and the build quality...and it works great, zero tracking problems, zero buttons problem, zero lift problems.....it just work perfect

BUT...I have found the part of the mouse that is KILLING my hand.....this:

yeah...that backward curve....let me show you, this is my old mouse:

can you see the difference ?? the curve is to the other side

now look at the G500, G9x, X8, Ikari

you see ?? ALL those mouse have the back end curve to the other side, thats because the natural position of the hand goes that way

but the RAT is just at the opposite side...and that makes a damn pain in my hand, because the right part of my hand is always up and after some minutes it cramp my wrist

so....I want to make this:

yeah...transform all the back end piece...

so..I want to modd it hard

what kind of material and tools do I need to use ??

have someone do that before ???

what is the best way to do that kind of mod ??

please help, I really like my RAT, I dont want to change it...but I can not continue using the mouse this way

help

Yeah I noticed this when I was shopping for a new mouse. The RAT was a contender until I noticed this flaw in the ergonomics. I would just replace the mouse man. Only thing I can think of is carving some type of soft plastic and "gluing" it down which would look like crap lol. Ofc if you had access to some type of plastics shop and could make a mold you could just replace the palm rest. Best I can offer. Just get a Naos 5000 and call it a day =P

Buy a pack of black Sugru. Should cost around $15 and you'll see it in your mailbox in 10-14 days.

Wow I'm definitely going to look into that. Looks like you can texture it too. I wonder if you can use carbon fiber mods on it too after it cures. That would look freaking sweeeeet. I'll post if I end up buying some and trying it out.
