But I'd recommend waiting out for ivy bridge, bulldozer that way sandy bridges/x6 prices will drop and u can compare then and see what's the best for ur budget(you should have more saved up too) Its a win win situation

There's no such cpu like phenomII x6 1050t,
(GIVE A PROPER INFORMATION)
its 1055t,
I havent recommended it cuz 1090t costs only $20 more than 1055t,
& I wouldnt recommend(others also wouldnt) a cheap mobo for a cpu like 1090t x6,

Obviously he meant 1055t; don't get too bent outta shape there bud.

Also obviously if a person is asking about an upgrade from a C2D, often times it's because the person isn't wanting to go all out (as evidenced by the older C2D they're likely making their investment stretch as much as possible). So, the cheaper the x6 the better in this case... "what's another $20?" some would say... and to them I say "some of us aren't made of money".

And a cheap mobo = no good for an x6? haha BOLLOCKS to that, completely! A $39 AMD 770 motherboard would work great with an x6, as would a $45 760G, or a $50-$60 AMD chipset mobo supporting AM3/DDR3. Performance would be similar for all, and there are plenty in the low price segment that build good-quality AMD chipset-equipped AM2+/AM3 boards (I'm looking at you, Gigabyte and Asrock).

I bet you can find a 1055t here or at hardforums in the FS/FT section for $125-135, an AM3 (DDR3) mobo for $45, RAM for $50....

... hm, that's only $220-$230. Far cry from four hundred ten frickin' dollars, sheesh.

I realize people are probably getting sick of hearing me repeat this in the AMD forums. I have more posts over here in the AMD segment of this forum than anywhere else since I joined because I enjoy helping people put together build ideas that represent the best possible value for the dollar. AMD has had value in spades until recently and I appreciated that. With that premise in mind, I could not at this time recommend a Phenom II X6 to anyone. The price point is just shy of a 2500K sandy bridge. The SB really does deliver a lot more performance per dollar compared to similarly priced AMDs right now. Waiting for bulldozer is the only logical alternative IMO. If they would drop the price of those X6s and higher end X4s then they could compete again.. For now, as I see it, a 1090T is not worth a list price more than ~$175 (not including specials and combo discounts, which would make it's effective price even lower for most buyers).

Unless you get a bundle.

Over HERE in Ireland you can get a 1090T, an M4A87TD EVO and 2x2GB of Patriot G-Series 1600mhz RAM for 292euro.

It's all about finding the right place to buy it cool.gif
