i5 RAM and cooling question

Thread Starter
I'm about to build a new PC, going to go with a 2500k.

I have been very disapointed with a 4GB ram limit and would like to build this system with 8GB.

My 2 concerns are. Will 8GB effect my overclock, if so by how much?(Im not sure what a 2500k is capable of I heard about 5GHz.)

Do I buy 4x 2GB or 2x 4GB?

Also I was going to use a Noctua NH-D14 which I had heard blocks a DIMM slot forcing the use of only 2 slots.

Do I need a Noctua NH-D14 or would another heatsink be a better choice?

Thanks....

I've had no trouble overclocking 12GB on my rig, although the Bloomfield's memory controller isn't that of Sandy's. If your chip is anything like its precursor, no worries on RAM sizes for OC.

Check the D14 website for the compatibility with the mobo you want. It fits most mobos... occasionally with certain mobos it does block the slots but again the tell you.
