Best board for what I need?

Thread Starter
What would be the best P67 for what I need?

- 1 PCI slot for an M-Audio 2496 Audio Card
- 2 PCI-E Crossfire compatible slots (x16,x16 or x8,x8, whatever benefits the most)
- 1 slot for PhysX (IF POSSIBLE)
- 1 IDE port (IF POSSIBLE)
- Support a high amount of RAM (12 - 32gb)

No budget.

Or.. If it doesn't work out, what should I go for? (1156, 1366, 775, etc)

going physx is going to require an NF200 chipset with CF. I would recommend just staying with a p67A-UD4 or another P67 board layed out like that. Not many P67 boards have IDE, oh and 8x/8x with the native ports without nf200 is faster in certain cases than 16x/16x with nf200 on P67, either way its faster tha X58 SLI/CF.

I have a P67A-UD7 its very nice, of course you can always go asus or to whomever else you want.

All P67 boards OC the same with respect to their quality, the expensive boards all OC the same, even the midrange do too, but some of the low range boards have more problems.

I won't necessarily need PhysX and an IDE Port, but enough to fit 2 GPUs and an Audio card in a PCI slot.

I can take any price so high end boards would work with me.

Maximus doesn't have a PCI slot, sadly.

I'll check the P8P67 Deluxe out.

check the P67A-UD7, its a great board IMO.
FYI going X58 will solve all your problems.

Wouldn't going X58 sacrifice speed though? (SB architecture is superior to the old arch according to the stuff I read up).
I'm thinking either the Deluxe or UD7.
I actually have a spare WD Caviar Black 640 spare in an external I don't use and I might go SLI for folding.

I just want something that will last for audio recording, video editing/rendering and a fair share of gaming.

Eh, not really. That's why I haven't gone SB yet, it's more of a side-grade.

X58 will work just fine for all of those.

I'm sitting at a 775, lol. What's worth it? Better for the money, and so I could resell and upgrade to IB/Haswell or something.
