Is there a huge difference between: X-Fi XtremeGamer & ASUS Essence XTS? - Page 2

He was being sarcastic that you might turn into one of us zombies.

I've had the STX and HD600. It's a good setup. It's definitely better than xtremegamer. The only question is are you willing to spend 200 on a sound card. If it's a question of two products that are in the same price range or attribute range then it's a much easier question to answer. You're basically asking the mass is it worth buying a 96 Accord over a 91 Corrola. Well, of course, but do you have the money and is it worth it to you?

And no offense to you guys, I know how answering question after question just makes you feel dull.

And yes, I have a pair of Sennhesier HD 600 headphones, and that is why I am asking.

Oh, yes, and I have a Xenyx 502.
Let me get this right. You HAVE a pair of HD600s and you're NOT using an amp for them? In that case the STX will be of much benefit from the xtreme gamer.

If you had headphones that didn't need to be amped, then not so much. You would still see a benefit, but the benefit would only be like moving up to a DX with amplification.

Reason to go for the STX is because of the amp.

If you already have an external AMP for those headphones then it may not be worth it. If you have nothing for the HD600s..well..you haven't even been experiencing the 600s then.
