Intel QX9300 vs. X9100

Thread Starter
Hey all, I am looking to upgrade the CPU in my Asus G72GX and I am trying to decide which of these two to go with. Which processor will be better for not only every day stuff but also for gaming like WOW, SC2, Crisis, and Diablo 3 when it comes out.

The QX9300 is a quad core rated at 2.53HZ and has multiplier of 9.5
vs.
The X9100 is a dual core rated at 3.07GHZ and has a multiplier of 11.5

Temperature aside..... let me say again..... Temperature aside.

I have read that not all programs and games can make use of quad core processors so that would limit the QX9300 so I turn to you.

I would go for the QX9300 if it was decently priced.

If this is something that you wanna use for a while. Games are starting to use quads now.
