What model Intel chip does your Q6600 @OC match ? eg speed, cores/threads, caches..

I just ran some Prime95 and I can't believe these temps !
my computer at 3.4ghz is faster than a stock i7. but then you can always just overclock an i7 to go even faster.

It's most likely that your mobo will die from the OC, not your CPU. I've never had a CPU die, and many of mine are getting really old.... RAM would be the next to die.

Best thing you can do is give your mobo air on FETs, NB and RAM.

I think I bought my E4300 in March 2007, been running at 3.0 - 3.2, around 1.43v ever since....

Cooled with an AF Pro 92mm......

The i7 does not count because its a different class of CPU. Cores/threads and caches must match with your Q6600.

We will see how long my CPU lasts, got it in August least year I think, never gone above 60C even with folding or game play.

I get 36 C load on my CPU at 1.3 volts and stock cooling. Undervolting for the win, haha.
