Unable to overclock my 1090T - Page 2

Had I known then what I know now, I would have gotten the Asus board that is other wise in the same category. This is the first MSI part I've bought, and has really been a lot of headaches.

I'd try a Bios update. 1.4's Out for your board.

The NF980-G65 has good Mosfet cooling so that shouldn't be an issue.

A lot of this talk about Mosfet's has been a little overkill. I'm not completely sure why it was even brought up since its not the answer to his question.

My friend has a 1090T and a GA-MA770-UD3 which is a 4+1 phase design with no cooling yet he's able to run his 1090T at 4GHz and fold 24/7 for solid weeks without issue.

I do have the newest BIOS...I had to flash to it for my SSD to work prior to even installing Win7 on first boot.

So...for my own information, identify for me the location of the mosfets on my board? That is the one I have. I can tell you that the cooler marked 140w stays super cool (it's in line with 2 exhaust fans and the CPU fan). The one to the left (bottom in the case of mounting in my computer) get's hot as Krakatoa...unfortunately it doesn't get the best airflow due to the location of my sound card.

Are either of these the part we're talking about? I attempted to Google it, but came up lacking anything in English.

So we know your Mosfets are just fine. Download AMD Overdrive, set it to advanced mode and adjust the multi using that.

OK, yeah, that one seems to stay quite cool, and get's a lot of airflow.

I installed AMD Overdrive (v3.2.3), but it gives me the message: "AMD Overdrive cannot detect a AMD 7-series chipset on this computer."

Looking into what that is now...if I get it to work this evening, I will check back in with results.

Apparently that should have been obvious...that software is listed for AMD chipsets, but not nVidia. Or am I missing something?

edit: Found the nVidia tools thingie...I will try that...it doesn't list my board as supported, but it came up under the search for nForce 9 chipset.

I mean this is just made! No mistake. I have built two systems using this mobo and it is just made for overclocking.

Want more go for the extreme board.
