Unable to overclock my 1090T - Page 3

140W... meh. MOSFET heatsink... no difference, they blow anyway
More than one VRM failure on that board already.... I'd say it's around similar quality to the 790FX-GD70/890FXA-GD70
Be careful

I had considered the CHIV Extreme at the time, but wanted SLI. After using SLI for about a week, though, it caused nothing but more issues, and I only require CPU/Memory speed, not GPU for what I do...I'm not a gamer. But, live and learn.

QFT. I have no need to burn things up just to go a bit faster.

ION, that nVidia software is pretty useless. It doesn't allow me to change voltages, only the multiplier or HT clock speed. I'll tinker with it when I get off work, though, and see what happens.

I had the same board and the VRMs blew at the settings in my sig (I have an ASRock now but I haven't bothered to change my sig yet ). As xd_1771 said... be very careful.

Mine ran for about 9 months before it blew... Never EVER going to buy a MSI board again

You can overclock without raising voltage. I even managed to lower the voltage by 0,025 and got to 3,7ghz. It doesnt run as hot as before, and the difference of 300mhz for 4ghz, seems not worth it to me to live in a oven (well not litelary, but it sure gets hot if my windows are closed).

I'm already feeling this way.

Yeah, even at stock speeds, if I leave mine on overnight running prime95, my ambient temp goes up about 10°F, even with both windows open. I am basting in my own juices by morning.
