Looking for the best Netbook under $350

Thread Starter
Hello guys I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a netbook.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220851
That's the one that I'm currently leaning towards to but if you guys know of a better one that's under the $350 price mark, feel free to post a link xD

I'll be doing mostly web surfing, emails, etc but I'm also thinking of doing some casual games. Flash games, Plants vs Zombies, etc those kinds of games

Thanks in advance

I would save up a little more and get something with the new AMD fusion apu's. Like the hp dmz1 or the thinkpad x120e, etc.

dmz1 $412

I second this. Get the HP dm1z instead. Performance compared to an Atom is higher, the GPU should be around the same speed, you'll get Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit instead of the absolutely dreadful Starter, 3GB of RAM instead of 1GB, a higher-res and higher size screen, around the same battery life, more storage capacity coupled with a faster HDD, a better keyboard, etc. The choice is clear, really. The dm1z is 2x more computer.

Either get the dmz1 when you have the money or get this. This Acer is more or less on the same level as the one you were looking at yet cheaper.

I would recommend the Acer 522 that was linked by Rookie. I just bought one a couple weeks and it has been great. This thing can play HD video no problem. It can also do its share of gaming. It will run Plant's vs. Zombies no problem and then some.

However if you willing/able save up to get what others suggest go for those instead. However if you are really constrained by budget the Acer will do just fine.

EDIT: The acer also has a 1280x720 resolution which to me makes a HUGE difference when comparing to other 10 inch netbooks.

Yeah, if I hadn't bought a 1001P last year in April and didn't prefer Linux I would be rocking that thing. Of course, if AMD got their Linux drivers together I would have a field day. That Acer is damn sexy. I can't fathom why anyone that uses windows would spend more money on the Atom/ION combos when this thing matches them and costs less.

Hmm for the Acer 522, I'm just worried about the 1.0Ghz CPU. Isn't that kind of way too slow even for dual core? Also lets say I did have money to get the hp one. Should I get the hp or the acer? Tell me Pros and Cons for each

Never mind, having looked at the specs, the HP one is def a lot better. I think I'll go with the HP one once I get a little bit more money Anyone here wants to donate? xD

Heh well I see you'll settle for the hp one which is just fine.

However just to comment the dual core in the acer netbook even though being a 1.0GHz still preforms very well. I believe it is comparable to some of the atom cpu's (don't quote me). But the gps and fusion make up for the cpu performance. Pretty much just my input on the matter heh. Anyways hope you'll enjoy whatever you end up with.
