GPU or CPU upgrade? - Page 4

You'll see more out of a new video card, but I'm holding out till the 28nm ones come next year.

Same with the processor, waiting till Bulldozer.

I'm patient that way.

My budget is around $170... rebates wouldn't matter because I have to have shipping and tax included. It's in my first post. How would a monitor offer more performance? LOL.

I don't think I can afford Bulldozer's first offerings. They'll be well out of my budget, unfortunately. If they do come out with their low-end versions, then maybe. But that still means I'd have to get a new motherboard that's at least a 770 (I hope) chipset and DDR3.

In that case, your best bet is to upgrade the video card. I would look around the For Sale section here on OCN to find a good card to step up to. I see some 470's and 5870's that are within your range.
