Overclocking XFX 6950 in Catalyst overdrive?

Thread Starter
Can someone suggest the best settings for overclocking XFX 6950 in Catalyst overdrive software:
  • GPU Clock setting? Currently set to 800 MHz can go up to 840 MHz
  • Memory clock Settings? Currently set to 1250 MHz can go up to 1325
  • Power control? Currently 0% can go up to 20%
  • Fan: I just leave on auto

I know I can flash it with 6970 bios but I prefer not to risk it since I plan to use this card for 4-5 years. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem, CCC has a limit of 840, MSI AB has the same 840 limit.

What gives, the voltage seems unlocked, but 800-840 seems pitiful, and I ran it without changing the volts just fine.

I tired this with MSI AB 2.1.0

http://www.overclock.net/ati/640563-msi-afterburner-1-4-0-bypass.html

And it didn't work, when I typed in 880 and hit apply, it just goes to 840.

Two methods:
1) Use MSI AB. Go to config file and change the unofficialoverclocking to 1. Also, under the unoffcialoverclocking EULA you will have to type down a sentence - you can easily find that with a google. It will unclock the clocks to 1600 and memory to about 2500.
2) Check this thread out. It is my preferred method with stock volts and in X-fire.
