Thunderbolt fan club! - Page 4

So with some decent use, playing games and such while downloading assorted things and checking email I have gotten the battery down to 48% in about 7 and a half hours with 3g/4g off and wifi on the whole time. Not bad considering this is about the same usage the phone will usually see so I am perfectly content. Next up is learning to root the thing.

This phone does exceptional in that scenario. And it's not like that's a hard thing to accomplish provided you're sucking down pollution in a big city, eh?

I'll have pictures of a really, REALLY slick carbon fiber/matte combo Jon Jon hooked me up with tomorrow. Night everyclocker!?

Boulder may be one of the smallest cities to have good LTE coverage, the college brings all kinds of nice things to the city.

Just installed Das Bamf GB sense 3.0 RC4, and oh my god, its beautiful. I wholeheartedly suggest that anyone who has rooted their thunderbolt check out this ROM, I was enjoying stock 2.2 with sense 2.0 but GB with sense 3.0 is so far ahead its not even funny.

You're insane, lol. Maybe it's just me, but I babied it and got 2 scratches going naked. Then I put a cheapo Steinhall SGP Crystal Clear protector on til I could get the Ghost Armor done.

That's awesome. We just had a MASSIVE dust storm here and I left the door open. Spent nearly 1/2 hour cleaning.

What if I can't stand Sense? Or at least, don't prefer it to standard?

Oh! I'm getting 2000 in Quadrant now. 1.407Ghz with no live wallpaper and minimal widgets. Sense stripped Gingerbread BAMF ROM.

It's already been fixed. Mod it. Mine can last 2 days if I don't go crazy with it. You need to be running in 3G ALL THE TIME. 4G's unneeded unless you're tethering or doing something crazy. Streaming HQ looks FINE on 3G with Youtube or Vemo, vevo, whatever it's called.

Someone just pmed me and asked if I would recommend the phone...here's my response:

Without question. HTC's the way to go bro. LG has crap software and the modding community will lag behind. It's also using a power hungry Nvidia chipset that's BRAND new to Android. Samsung has a TERRIBLE track record when it comes to updates and the screen uses a LOT of power. HTC uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon chipset and the most mature software with Sense. Modders are having a field day with it.

The hardware's fantastic too. I probably sound like a fanboy gushing, but I have gone through these phones:

ATT:
Samsung Blackjack II

Sprint:
Palm Pre

Verizon:
BlackBerry Curve - 1 device
Blackberry Storm - 4 devices
Blackberry Tour - 4 devices
Palm Pre - 1 device
Motorola Droid 1 - 5 devices
Motorola Droid 2 - 3 devices
HTC Eris - 1 device
HTC Incredible - 1 device
HTC Thunderbolt - 1 device
Samsung Fascinate - 4 devices

I hope you guys can see a pattern here. HTC gets it right the first time. They were commissioned by Google for the original phone. Even before this, they made great devices with the HTC Touch Pro for WinMo. IMO, HTC + LTE's the way to go for the foreseeable future.

Oh, and iPhone 4S will not have LTE.

*TMO's HTC Sensation and Sprint's HTC Evo 3D seem like WONDERFUL phones. I would stay far away from any Moto, LG, or Samsung devices!
