Besides why would you want to cripple your CPU with reduced features. Its a dumb idea. That's like stuffing socks in your 6 cylinder to make it a 3 cylinder.

If you came here educated you'd know that AM3 CPUs can work on AM3+ socket. Also, as I said:

If ASUS can confirm you can plop an AM3+ CPU in an AM3 socket.... then yeah, you can plop an AM3+ CPU in an AM3 socket.

And what of the reduced features? It'd be no different than running an AM2+ CPU in AM2 socket. Reduced HyperTransport (which is not going to matter), some power saving features disabled, and turbocore v2.0 disabled which is not going to matter if you are overclocking.

First of all why would you use Intel in an argument about AMD?
Second, how can you know if it does reduce features or if those features matter at all?

JF-AMD only said AMD does not support BD on AM3. There has been nothing stating that AM3 cannot support BD.

Too bad that article is wrong and has been rebuked.
Asus lying through their teeth to you about the Bios update.
BD will not fit in AM3 the pin layout will be different.
If BD fit in AM3 and magically worked via Bios update then ALL mobo manufactuers would be able to do it not just Asus.

AMD Concurs twice!
