If we're strictly talking motherboards here, Intel does no such thing. Motherboard manufacturers who see a bigger market share from Intel do. Intel makes it's own motherboards (and if it had it its way, they would be the only one allowed to do so), and I have yet to see an enthusiast board from Intel.
If we're talking CPU's, then yes Intel makes better ones, but in most cases only an Engineer or a Render Farm would really benefit from the price premium. Finally, we can thank AMD for kicking Intel in the butt with the Athlon 64's, without that kind of dominance, Intel would be even more lazy than it is now. Corporations don't care about consumers, they only care about maximum profit with minimum investment (this includes AMD, however despite this AMD has always been more consumer friendly).
If there was another CPU manufacturer that could suit my needs and compete with AMD, I would be all over that too, but as it stands AMD is my boy.
