Read Mr. Yerli's quote in this thread: immediately canceled pre-order sitting on newegg for over a month. His call, his loss.

It has nothing to do with piracy. He just wants to try and cash in on the consoles which isn't even a guarantee. He didn't even have the balls to make a new IP, instead they just ruined the only one they have.

Ah... So what you're saying is it's easier to obtain an Xbox 360 with a viable DVD drive, flash said drive, download game ISO files, burn to dual-layer DVDs than it is to simply download and run a patch of some type?

Not to mention Microsoft has massive ban waves that don't just ban the user, they ban the console they are using. So not only is it harder to pirate on 360, it's also a crap load more risky and a much bigger investment since you need to have a 360 that can 1. Be flashed in the first place, if not you're buying one (money), 2. Have a computer able to even flash the drive, 3. Be willing to risk all of the work you've put into it as well as the cost.

How is it an excuse when it's right in front of your eyes, in the sales charts, and negatively affecting the game developers and publishers in a very real way?

Pirates won't pirate if there aren't any games to pirate, and one way or the other either you'll have games and no pirates or no games and pirates. I'll let the entire PC gaming community decide their own fate though, but let's just say I'm not very hopeful that we'll see a 'change of heart' from the pirates.

Guy, people have been pirating for decades. Music, movies, games.. Just because someone pirates something DOESN'T mean they would have bought it. Most pirates don't even play the damn games.

I know when I was young I would download everything that I didn't buy, installed them, burned them fired it up once and tossed in the closest. A lot of people do this just because they can.

False. All 3 consoles can be made to run backups without a modchip these days.
