The screen is 960x540, which you would think would stack up pretty well against the iPhone, except that it uses a pentile matrix. Pentile was acceptable on AMOLED displays because you had the advantages of AMOLED. The Atrix uses an IPS display, the same as the iPhone, but since it only displays 2/3 of the pixels it claims the supposed "quarter HD" screen is really only half the resolution of the iPhone. Compare it side by side with a normal 4" IPS phone like the Incredible S and you'll see that the supposedly lower resolution screen ****s all over the Atrix.
The Atrix also has a dual core Tegra 2 SoC, which makes it fast right? Go try one out in the store and see what Motoblur has done to it. It lags, it stutters, and in general feels like an Android 2.1 device running on a 600MHz single core.
Don't bother with the Atrix. There are much better Android phones, like the LG Optimus 2X, or you could always wait for the Galaxy S II.
I have a 1 ghz single core, and blur is fine. ( Droid pro)
Even if you don't like blur, the atrix has been rooted, so you could always install your own Rom.
Maybe there were some games or something running in the background?
