Hyper 212 help - Page 2

Don't change, the fan that comes with the 212 is an awesome fan. You can go probably blow forty bucks and buy two 3000rpm fans for a slightly bigger drop than just adding a second blademaster for probably fifteen bucks:

in all honestly I did the same, but I am comparing temps from Summer to Winter...so my summer temps were around 72c and winter around 62c....I added the extra fan this winter and the delta change is really unknown in my house. So I'll wait for summer again to really see the difference. Otherwise I had a 10c drop with a second fan, and that is too good IMO.

Yeah I did my testing right after I mounted the cooler for the first time, I bought the second fan with it.

Thread Starter
Well, I just opted to lower my multiplier and voltage.

Currently running x46 down from x48 and dropped to 1.320 volts. so far after 6min on prim 95, temps are in the upper 60's peaking in the mid 70's. so this is def more likable numbers, and I still cant complain about a 4.6 OC as a first time build O/C attempt.

I don't know anything about the new cpus, my 212 can get my i5 750 to 4.0 at about 70 degrees but I don't feel safe with that.... It's an awesome cooler for the price anyway!

^This again and again. Keep in mind the link has only 3 heatpipes and the 212+ has 4 so you need an extra line of TIM.

The fan on it is pretty good. Changing out the fan with something of a higher RPM will only decrease a few degrees and then doing push/pull will decrease a few degrees.

But yeah, it's a budget cooler that performs quite well but not that good. If you really want to be pushing your chip as high as it'll go, you need to pay the price.
