A guide to browsing faster on Mozilla Firefox (optimizations, etc.) - Page 5

This thread (coupled with the Waterfox thread) brought me back to FF after using Chrome for 1.5 years. Amazing work, these optimizations are pretty astounding.

I was wondering if this guide still applies to FF6, I'm only asking because when I try to do step 1 I cant. I'll goto my run bar and type in firefox -profilemanager and it just opens firefox. I do have an SSD and would love to try to do step 1.

So I've been looking at my browser.cache options in about:config. The value for the browser cache disk capacity is 1048576 - what are the units for this? bytes? kilobytes? megabytes? Or something else?

Thread Starter
crabby654: This is likely a problem with your setup. On both Waterfox 6 and Firefox 8 alpha, the dialog loads fine.

The value for browser cache disk capacity is I believe in kilobytes. You have 1024MB or 1GB of disk cache.
