You didn't say in your first post that you'll be doing 3d modelling, you said it would be for casual gaming.

I'll take this into account and i'll see if i can make a list of parts from bitfang. Give me a few minutes.
I dont do 3d modelling!!!! my dad does!!! [BAD JOKE] :-)

bitfang is a nice site........

But i cant get my budget to exceed 40,000 rupees...

ive got a total of 6 computers in my home...
3 desktop n 3 laptop
processors range from
Intel pentium MMX 166 mhz!!! Really blazing fast with 64 mb ram!!!
Intel pentium 4 2.8 ghz 2 gb ram
intel pentium d 805 2 gb ram
Laptops---
Intel core 2 duo 1.6 ghz cant remember the model but i think its t1200 or something

Intel centrino 2 p8400 ithink
Intel core i5 450 m which im using presently!!!!
i would sell the mmx and pentium d for this rig!!

thanks in advanced for helping me!!!

[OFF-TOPIC]

My Gosh, thats where rupees in Zelda come from!!

[/OFF-TOPIC]

Get a x4. The difference wont' be so big, x4 are great performers.
if ( you'd be getting 1x4Gb RAM)
Use the spare cash to get another 4gig of RAM to go dual channel - its not just faster, its 2x.
else if ( you'd be getting 2x2Gb RAM)
Use the spare cash to get a CF mobo.

On the GPU side, get at least 5770.. If you're not going to CF, 5750 won't do you any good. 5770 can at least run most current games maxed.
Won't be future proof at all, but for a tight budget...

what do you mean by "rupees in zelda come from"??????

Anyways a 6 core processor might be able to future proof my rig a bit... as i think.... Also presently i would go for a 4x1 gb ram... but in the next year or so.... i would buy the same 4 gig ram and run it in dual channel mode.....

As far the graphics is concerned ... i can change my mind to 5770.... And a medicore gamer dosent play all the games at max effects...only the resolution is full taht to only sometimes...... other settings are low to morderate in my case some full are exceptions!!!!

Hey,

GTX460s are much better than 5750s and 5770s. Go for it! P.S 460s have gotten a price cut since the 560 has been released, take advantage of that.
If you would like to future-proof yourself get a larger PSU, then you can power a SLI setup etc.
post #15 of 50
This is the build i was able to put together:
  • CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2GHz
    Price = Rs. 7425
    /This CPU is enough to run any current games at max and should be good for a quite a few years especially if overclocked\\

  • Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212+
    Price = Rs. 2090

  • MoBo: Asus M4A87TD
    Price = Rs. 5725
    /This motherboard has Crossfire capability, so that will help future-proof the graphics side of things because you can get a 2nd GPU\\

  • RAM: G-Skill 1600MHz 2x2GB Kit
    Price = Rs. 5720
    /4GB is more then enough for any game and 2x2GB kits are fairly cheap compared to 4GB sticks. Later down the line you can get a 2nd 2x2GB kit and have 8GB of ram altogether which will be more then enough for anything. By the time most programs would actually take up 8GB this system (and all our systems) will be completely obsolete anyway\\

  • HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Black
    Price = Rs. 5511

  • ODD: LG 24x DVD Burner
    Price = Rs. 1045

  • PSU: Corsair TX650W
    Price = Rs. 5665
    /This is a good quality power supply that will be good for most crossfire setups.\\

  • GPU: PowerColor 5770
    Price = Rs. 7972
    /I was going to choose the 6850 (~Rs. 10000) but it pushed past the budget too much. But this card will still be able to max out a lot of games out currently and will work very well when crossfired with a 2nd one in the future\\

  • Case: Cooler Master Elite 430
    Price = Rs. 2970

TOTAL: Rs. 44123

You must remember as well that "Cheap" and "Future-proof" do not go together!

This is the best i could do while keeping in mind that you want a multi-core CPU, a good GPU and you want it to be future proof. Unfortunately i couldn't get it all the way down to Rs. 40,000

And it doesn't include the monitor. But can you use a monitor or TV that you already have? You must have something you can use if you have all those computers. Maybe use an old one and then later down the road buy a good monitor?

I do not recommend getting a case with an inbuilt power supply. Most likely it'll be a very cheap one that will fail, and you will end up having to buy another one. In the end you might end up having to spend more then you would have if you had first bought a good quality one! In the worst case scenario if the cheap PSU fails it might even ruin your entire rig!

Most applications are barely even taking advantage of quad cores yet. It will be a few years before they can take full advantage of a 6-core processor. By the time applications have actually started to take advantage of a 6 core processor you might be considering building a new rig by then anyway!

The x4 will be more then enough for most games for the next 2 years at the very least!

Nice work there!!!! but you surely need correction!!

The monitor i have is a good old crt 17" 1024x768 monitor?!!!!!!

The motherboard you mentioned dosent give crossfirex! also it has got a 4 pin cpu connector, whereas a 8 pin is good for overclocking......
CPU Choice is also a nice one.... i think now that ill go for the 955 only...
Ram choice is also good but i dont think that the x4 supports 1600 mhz... im not sure.

I dont know why all you guyz dosent support the included psu thing....
The PSU im getting with the cooler master k100 is http://www.coolermaster.com/product....category_id=27..

Is this not a good psu????
As far as the cooler goes.... i wont be overclocking my rig just yet!!! so stock cooler for me now.......
so rs 2000 saved!!!
Also if i go with the k100 and extreme power plus combo.. i save another ~~ 8500 rs!!!!! Can this be a steal???? heheheh

im going with your gpu of 5770. thats really a good choice!
http://www.chip.in/section/buying_gu...erformers.html

Actually i had never thought of the crossfire thing for my rig..... But now im on for a hunt for a cheap crossfire support mobo!!!!

Thanks very much for helping me out
but i need help till i dont get my rig!!!!

Not really, but as OC.
All AMD systems officially support only up to 1333, but are OCable and can make good use of faster RAM.
If all else fails, at least you can severely lower the timings and still get great performance.

Sorry about that, i thought i picked the EVO version!

The EVO version has Crossfire support as well as a 8+1 power phase.

BUT! The 2nd slot is PCI-E x4, you can do a crossfire setup, but the x4 slot will cause you to lose a bit of performance when compared to 2 x16 slots.

It will only be a small drop though, especially with only 2 5770's. You only need to worry about x4 slots with the latests cards because they bottleneck them severely.

A board with 2 x16 slots costs cash money's! Like a Crosshair IV Formula which is expensive!

Yes but boards with 8-pin connectors cost more and your limit was Rs. 40,000!

You could go a step up and get the M4A89TD PRO it has dual PCI-E x16 slots, 8+1 power phase, as well as an 8-pin power connector as well as heatsinks. This is a good overclocking board, but again it's a lot more expensive.

An 8+1 phase power design, is VERY important when overclocking Phenom II's! Cheap boards with 4+1 phase power design have been known to CATCH FIRE if set with a high overclock!!

Here's an article on why 8+1 phase power designs are important:
http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/94...hy-choose.html

The M4A87TD EVO, is the same type as the original board i suggested, but it has an 8+1 power phase and is only a small bit more expensive.

It is not a good PSU and it isn't a steal. Coolermaster PSU's suuuuuuck!! There basically the same as even cheaper PSU's, they are only rebranded as coolermaster!

Here's a ranking of different brands of PSU's by OCN's own PSU Guru:
http://www.overclock.net/power-suppl...ing-scale.html

Coolermaster eXtremePower Plus PSU's are NOT good! As well as that it's only 430w, and 430w is not enough for crossfire in the future, especially on a low quality one like that!

Stick with Seasonic, OCZ, Corsair, etc.

Avoid MSI without MSOFET cooling - they blow. Literally, explode
