I dunno, someone just got a 2gb ref sapph that's missing the switch.

It's very hit or miss, so make sure you buy from a shop that has no fault return policy.

Sorry.. the 560ti did not beat it, however I see no point in getting the 1GB version when you can get a 2GB for not much more.

And to the guy that did not get a unlockable card, was it ref? and does it say version 2?

Well i'm going for the 2gb version and there is a review on newegg saying he will update it tommorow saying if it flashes and i'm play at 1080p and want to go as high as i can with aa and settings

heres the review that he says will be updated late tommorow: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo
I'll wait till then because the new card looks like it has better cooling and thats always nice when you are boosting a cards clocks and increasing shaders. Also doesn't look like they are going out of stock on the reference since newegg just got a new shipment from msi that was previously out of stock.

Look at the backside of the pcb. The vrms are next to the ports. That's a 6870 board, aka the redsigned AMD ref ver 2. Dude's gonna fubar his card just like the ppl who tried flashing 6950 twin frozrs based on the same pcb.

I didn't see a switch on the xfx link you posted? Maybe I need glasses or something?

The msi from Amazon is safe. I just got mine last week was unlocked after unpacking lol.

Go for Sapphire, Asus, or Gigabyte. MSI's are prone to being bricked.

Ok well i'm getting msi because its $10 cheaper and looks like some safire (epic spelling) people have been getting doa cards.

And well you can see the 1 and 2 numbers so i figure the bios switch is under that. and im pretty sure i see it in 360 view.

Look again, it isn't there. 1-2 is just the pcb printing.
