im looking to get a nice gaming laptop but i dont want to spend to much

this one is about $1300 USD

questions

Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Processor? this is SB yes? any idea on how it performs
also the design of these laptops. any major flaws? is the cooling good?
good enough to run SC2 on high? also looking to play BF3, will it run it?

thanks

It is sandy bridge and i would think it would run most games pretty well but not maxed out.. overall i would say its a pretty sweet laptop.

looks to be quite nice, i see it comes with home premium, which isn't great for gaming. i'm not sure if there is a trick to enable legacy support. i use ultimate (yes it's legit) just because it supports a lot more, and works with 16 bit installers.

might take a look at this one which is cheaper and has an i7

also this laptop has a much better cpu (i7 2.66ghz) and slightly smaller HDD, and im not sure about the graphics.

just a couple recommendations. good luck

Sweet laptop. There is really no laptop out there that will handle games on high settings without heating up bad. Laptops can only do so much since they are so compact. I would recommend a cooler for prolonged game playing though.

Just kill it within the first year to use that warranty lol

I had a Toshiba gaming laptop. I always ran hot. harmon/kardons are nice, but are only of minor importance. At that price range you should go with Sager NP8130 or 8150, it's got a 1080p screen and better cooling and you'll get a quad.

Get the 8130, at your price range unless you find something on sale/refurbished nothing will beat it in price/performance and it has amazing quality including great cooling, which the qosmio struggles with.

sager ftw. my np-8690 is pretty damn good with its i7-740qm and GTX 470m (GTX 460 SE).

that's a good laptop there. built solid like a brick to boot. the new sagers look weaker to me build-wise.

Good laptop but very big and bulky and heavy, for an 18.4 inch laptop I wouldn't settle for anything under 1080.

eh, what about 15-inch 1080p? the detail is ridiculous with pixels that small and anti-aliasing becomes a moot point.
