This is just getting out of hand.
Isn't this theft, This is breaking so many laws it's not even funny.

This is why you don't buy EA games, you want to help stop them?

Start with not paying for their content.

I believe this has grounds to sue, I mean at least get your money back, and everyone else who has been screwed over by the now imperialist EA will follow along.

Congratulations, Corporations now own things you bought and payed for.

Corporations now own you, and the Government.

But I am sure most people still think Communism is more evil...

Think about it.

P.S:

If you really want the game but don't want to support EA there is other options.

Maybe we should open a thread exposing people to the true nature of EA.

If we even get 1/3 of the people on OCN to boycott, at least we will know we made a dent in them.

I will NOT support a company that treats thier customers like they've committed a crime for speaking thier mind.

Seems a bit one sided, unless we know exactly what the person did we can't assume that E.A. has done anything wrong.

Not if its in a TOS that he agreed to...Granted we may not read them...but we still agree to them... Thats like if I sat here and said derogatory comments on OCN...I would get banned...Freedom of speech or not...

I do think its retarded to get banned for a forum post...

78@pwnt4lif3:

Freedom of speech does not apply to the internet, the internet however does have a "constitution" but that does not apply to the people on it, rather to protecting the freedom of the internet, and such.

See on this forum they could ban you, remove all of your content for no reason.

They withhold the right to do that because they own it. Same principle applies to EA Forums, however I don't believe they have the legal right to steal from you.

If I went on their forum supporting Hitler, and supporting a Nazi Christian belief, and calling everyone I talk to on there racial slurs, I still have the right to use my content that I purchased.

They should not have the right to steal your money, which is exactly what they are doing.

The point I was trying to make is that it doesn't matter whether or not he was lying. If you accept the email is legit and not shopped, then even if he went on some rampage, trolling and being an asshat, then he should be banned from the forum. I am sure there is at least some element of a lie in his presentation of the story (as there is in any disagreement), but the way the email states it, it was rude forum behaviour that was the reason for getting banned from his games.

Maybe you didn't mean it the way it sounds, but as a mod I'm sure you hate it when somebody fights fire with fire, and you have to scold both parties, even though the guy second guy was defending the noble cause

Now some people would say that statements such as the one I'm about to make is an example of a degenerate, illogical and uncivilized population, but I do not care in the slightest bit. If I received an email like this, I would walk on over to the home of the person or persons responsible for my ban, and I would beat them to a pulp. Regardless of whatever statements I may have made, whatever Terms Of Service I may have agreed to, and whatever laws the corporation or I may have broken over the issue, I wouldn't let anybody take away something I have worked hard for.

Edit: Also, I can fully understand being banned from forums, they are supposed to be family friendly (I think).

where is the source that he was sticking up for Bioware anywhere?
The link this article gives is just to a short one paragraph statement by someone who claims they got an e-mail...

any real world proof of this?

The other thing i find funny... is the article specifically states Dragon Age 2 player... no where does it say anything about Dragon Age 2 anywhere... is it just a ploy to put more bad light on Dragon Age 2? lol

Wooooow, well I know one person who will be pirating DA2. If I were him I sure wouldn't buy a second copy of a $60 game...

EA shouldn't hold the game over peoples heads like that. Yeah, you can say it'll encourage people to reach upward for something better. But on the other hand, if something breaks, someone's gonna get crushed.

Metaphors for the win.
