Is this a good budget rig for my friend? - Page 2

See if you can find a more quality oriented VRM system (i.e. 8+2 phase, or 4+1 w/heatsinks on)
i.e. if you can find GA-870A-UD3 or M4A87TD EVO... they normally cost the same as M4A77TD's here in America. Do they sell Biostar boards there?

Found a M4A87TD EVO, it costs 35€ more which my friend wasn't too happy about it because he had 700€ and the build was a little under that but now he needs to save up for 30€, hes knows something but hes not into hardware that much so I said he gets more power by doing that, lol. But thanks for probably saving me many many hours of work rebuilding his rig for a RMA'd fried MOBO. +rep

If you keep the first, set-up, you should be sure, to have a good power source... more or less, it has to have more than 600W

Rig looks fine to me. I had a friend build his first a few weeks ago using similar hardware.

Would that be a nice budget rig? Would there be a bottleneck?
You don't know that the 965 will go that high. Most don't get over 4GHz.

It's a bad idea to buy something and expect a certain overclock out of it.

Oh, and that RAM sucks, get 1600 at least.

The one other thing I would do is go 1600Mhz, if you can find it for the same price in Europe (you usually can in America)
