Degrading RAM?

Thread Starter
I have a usual 24/7 oc of 3,1ghz in my core 2 duo. I'm pretty ram limited because of ddr2 800 mhz. Yesterday my pc didnt booted, i checked the post and i found some error in ram, as i usually have it at 900mhz i could think being oc'd could like be degraded, so i booted as 800mhz and now it works pretty well. I have it for aroudn 3 years, so it could be that the ram is a bit damaged?

P.D: why in the bios it says its frequency is 800mhz but in cpu z its says 400 and the ratio is set 1:1? cant it be changed?

Try running a couple passes of Memtest86+, and see if any errors pop up.

CPU-Z is reading the memory bus rate of 400MHz.
So:
400MHz x 2 (DDR; Double Data Rate) = 800MHz
