I thought I had it sorted... I am truly sorry for answering my own question but it was a bad ide or ata cable
...trouble is it worked sometimes....after installing an old ide cable it went to work...

I think you guys are brialliant for answering questions at times... but if you wanna let this flaming ball of a question just burn to
The ground...I would be much obligeded...


I am working on a old mobo... the Asus A8N SLI deluxe...
I had a dvd drive pretty much always hooked up, I had a sata for a bit and it works perfect.. but as I am selling this computer to a friend I have several ide drives but none seem to be registering in bios.. is there a way to isolate problem... it works sometimes...!!
Drives work on other mobo ....check, is that check mate?
