Had a gigabyte 560ti soc 1000mhz on order now for best part of a month (due in stock 2moz) http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-g...0mhz-384-cores . Heard they has been a few issues with the cards been unreliable on a few forums. Now looking on the Scan.co.uk i see this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigab...ck-950mhz-core a new soc card but at 950mhz and in stock.... any one thinking the same as me?? No more 1000mhz SOC??

I originally was going to pick up the Gigabyte 560 ti super oc 950mhz one, Instead i went with MSI's Twin Frozr II 560, came with 880 core clock. I overclocked it to 960 with .012 increase in voltage. stock V is 1000mv.

Edit: Maybe those 1000mhz 560 were cherry picked and limited production?

Wouldn't suprise me if they did have issues. 1000mhz is no mean feat on 40nm/Fermi, was suprised to say the least when they announced it would be put into production in the first place.

Always imagined there would be problems with this card, trying to balance heat, power and clock speed is something of a fine art, not to mention the sifting through GPU's to find that 'golden chip' must be something of a time-consuming endevour for Gigabyte's Graphics department.

Was great that they tried it as a gimmick (love gigabyte - first GPU i ever bought) but clearly not sustainable for the long term.

I mean 90% of people on this forum would have a hard time reaching 1000mhz on any graphics card - it's very, very difficult thing to do.

Only site i've seen them availiable on now is dabs.com - and that's only for pre-order!

It sounds like Gigabyte ended up scraping the 1000mhz core clocked 560's.

I wouldn't hesitate on pulling the trigger on the MSI's Twin Frozr II model

If you ordered the 1000mhz version you should still be sent that one, not the 950mhz version - correct me if i'm wrong.

Unless you are considering going SLI at some point i would suggest hanging onto the SOC that you ordered - quite the collectors item imo. If your not too worried about potential reliability that is.

If you do decide to go SLI (or are worried about reliability) then switch to the MSI Twin Frozr II by all means, whatever can give you the best temperatures in regards to peformance i guess.

Wont be going SLI down the road so not worrid on the part, i just have a feeling they wont get anymore in stock and the 950mhz version is under a different product anyway so dont think they would send me that, i only ordered it coz of the 1000mhz, its for work more than gaming (3D modeling). So a Cooler quiter card would be better anyway but like u say could be quite the collectors item... if it works...

Seems like your heart is saying Gigabyte SOC but your head is saying MSI Twin Frozr II!

Personally i'd try the SOC first - you can always exchange it later if it doesn't work out for you, and there's something which obviously compelled you to buy the card in the first place so i'd stick with it.

If you do go for the SOC - just don't be a fool and try to overclock it, but i think you already know that anyway lol

Either way your going to have a ****e-hot system mate. Good luck with whatever you choose!
