Twin Frozr II or Arctic cooling Accelero xtreme plus? with GTX580

Thread Starter
So guys, I've decided to switch back to the dark side in my next build when better Sandybridge MBs arrive to my market (Definitely going with Asus), switching from AMD+ATI~Yes it know it's called AMD now but I feel sorry for ATI~ to my long lost companion Intel+Nvidia.

Back to GTX580, which model do you recommend,
MSI GTX580 Twin Frozr II or Galaxy GTX 580 Arctic cooling Accelero xtreme plus?

I know all about the heat that exhausts inside the case, but since I have a HAF32 (might replace it with HAFX later) there isn't really a problem thanks to the huge side panel fan and great airflow in general.

I'm going to use it with a 1080p display (1 of the these 2 monitors)
VIEWSONIC 24" LED VX2450WM-LED
ASUS VG236 3D Monitor 120Hz with Nvidia 3d vision kit

Note: These monitors are the best models available in my market, if I didn't mention a specific monitor then I can't get it.

So, which GTX580 model is better at cooling and which monitor out of these do you recommend?

Thanks for your time.

If three slots don't bother you take the AXP everytime. They keep my 480's cool and quiet.

No matter which I choose, what dedicated physx card would you recommend to go with it?
Most people say GT260 but sadly I can't find it in my market, the closest 1 I found is GTS450, what do you think?

I'm also having seconds thoughts now, wouldn't it be better to get 2 570 and enable physx with them instead of 1 580 with a dedicated physx card? it's almost the same cost while 2x 570 slied are far superior than 1x 580..

Spending $ on a PhysX card isn't worth it. There are very few games that benefit from a dedicated PhysX card. So for cost effectiveness I say get the 570 SLI combo and reap the benefits of more power when playing all those games that don't use PhysX. 1.25GB VRAM is fine as long as you don't go triple monitor gaming.

As far as those monitors go, I have a 120HZ monitor and I love it. When I'm not using 3D I use it for 120HZ gaming. You should probably make a thread in the Displays section http://www.overclock.net/monitors-displays/

I understand that but my favorite games support physx, I love and adore physx, it's 1 of the main reasons why I'm moving away from AMD cards, plus the fact that later on I could get a 3d monitor, there is a huge list of my favorite games that support 3d.

I did make a thread there but it was mostly ignored, that's why I slipped the question about monitors along with the GPU question over here cause I knew people are more active here

The thing about the 3d monitor is that, I never seen 3d before (not a cinemas fan), but I do imagine what it would look like, however I heard many people say that it causes headaches sometimes, also I'm worried about the size of the things coming out of the monitor, it wouldn't be life like, it would be mini size on a 24" screen, it would look like dolls and doll toys coming out of the screen, you know what I mean?

twin frozr is better than stock - but it still runs hot and loud (relative for me). AXP is the closest thing you can get to watercooling without watercooling.

The a 450 will work well. SadSoul has one he's used for PhysX. http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/8929...its-meant.html

That is actually called Toyification, lol. I have my depth set so it's mostly like a window for most games. Having stuff pop out crosses my eyes too much. The headaches are from getting used to the 3D effect. I think your eyes know its just a monitor so at first the crossing feels unnatural. Took me about 3 days to get used to it. No eyestrain now. Another good thing about these monitors is the 120 FPS for games in 2D.

If I go with the 580 I will take the AXP, that matter is settled now thanks.

I have the GTX 580 with the Accelero cooler, and my idle temp is 26C, and Civ 5 on a fully exposed huge map with 1,334 MBs of Vram used up, the temp is 47C at max everything. I love my new card.

Hope this helps.
