Hey guys, I have to build a computer for a graphic designer. I was wondering what you think of what I put together. The computer will mainly be used for photoshop and illustrator and it the price has to be around 1200$ The website I built it on is called BestDirect.ca since I live in Canada.

That monitor is not going to cut it for a graphic designer..not one that wants to be a success anyway

if you plan on overclocking your CPU you should get a p67 and not a h67 chipset, as the h67's cant OC the cpu

Yeah I was thinking that, but the other graphic designers in the office have the same monitor. The work that they are doing isn't too detail oriented (I don't think). What would you recommend that isn't too over budget?

Well..I think most people who are heavy into graphic design etc would want an IPS panel..Dell U2410, U2311H, something like that..you would have to shave elsewhere to get it though.

If the other people in the office are using that monitor then it should be fine, though! An IPS would probably set him a notch above his peers depending on the type of work they do though

If you can manage a Dell U2311H that would be ideal, I think. It is something like $320 US, not sure how/where/what they run up in Canada, though.

isn't a i7 2600K better for graphics design?
even if u don't plan to overclock, get a P67 anyway since the iGPU of the H67 won't be used as ur using discreet graphics. make options available for him.
also i would look into a quadro since i heard they improve perf in latest photoshop. but the price might not be worth it.
