Best 1U low output psu?

Thread Starter
I am in need of a very high quality, QUIET, 1U, preferably caseless, low power PSU for a build with an AMD Zacate and 2-8 hard drives. I'm not sure how much power I would need, but I am sure it would be less than 200W. 80Plus would be nice as well.

Which brands should I look to for this? I have looked on NewEgg and I see some OK looking units from FSP. I have also seen some SeaSonic units but NewEgg does not carry them.

Any suggestions?

If you don't know what you are talking about, why even post a suggestion? And about your suggestion, calling a single brand 'the best' is so misguided it isn't even funny. Please don't give out false information.

I appreciate your efforts but that is not the information I was looking for.

I am after a 1U power supply (or case less). 1U refers to sizing found in rack mount servers where 1U is 1.75" high.

I have four 1U's sitting in the garage right now, not sure of the wattage but I can pull it tonight and check. If you want it then its yours if you want to just pay for shipping.

I don't know what is best, since I haven't seen reviews of many 1U units. But SeaSonic, CWT, Delta Electronics, and FSP all have very competent 1U server PSUs.

As for quiet... Good luck. 1U form factor means you end up with one or two 60mm fans, and they have to pull enough air through the usually small grilles to dissipate a significant amount of heat. And since noise isn't usually an issue in server environments... It's safe to assume that any given 1U PSU will be a screamer.
