between those three choices what's your top priority?

I tend to agree, this poll is the result of a discussion on another forum where it was stated that graphics are most important thus playing minecraft is incomprehensible lol

In my book old games are still good even though they look dated..

Gameplay all the way! If Crysis had Modern Warfare 2's gameplay, we'd be on to a winner...

Everybody is going to say gameplay...so /thread.

#6 ·
storyline...gameplay as well..but the two are almost synonymous with me...

Most definitely game play.

In certain games the graphics do matter as they can really ruin an experience and a great storyline is always awesome, but like in Mass Effect 2 it had a great story line and the other two suffered so badly I had to stop playing it half way through. On the other hand I must have put in 100+ hours into Minecraft!

No.

I say graphics. I've played enough games to know they're like jokes, there's only so many jokes (about three, but I can't remember now) in the world, then all the others are just variations of the same jokes...

So your left with how you spice it up. The only people who think "gameplay" is that important (it's kind of obvious that if the gameplays rubbish then the games rubbish!!!!) are the people who haven't been around very long.

Having said that, there's a time and a place for everything, and some times i'm happy playing "block" games, other times I want a cinematic experience.

If you're a 15 and want to look all bohemian by saying "yah, gameplays all that matters like, man", then why don't you stick to board games.

The fact is, if you want to know what's important to a gamer (in this thread) look at what graphics card they've got in their sig, just look at the first four posts!!!! PMSL they all say gameplay.

well purpleannex I'm talking solely for myself here, but although I do have a powerful pc capable of high quality graphics, I still play older games with it that I enjoyed over my 'gaming life'

that doesn't mean I don't enjoy maxing out games but It's not an absolute necessity.. hell I played games at their lowest settings on my old rig and still enjoyed them haha

If I could take rep away from you I would. Full of assumptions and one really hilarious contradiction.

What a fail post.

I feel like gameplay and storyline are equally important. Graphics can take a back seat most of the time. It's nice to have something looking super beautiful with everything maxed as high as it can go, but if all you have is visuals, the game will be weak overall.

Gameplay > Story > Graphics

Point in case: Runescape when it first came out.... the graphics were maybe 1/10, but the gameplay was highly addicting.

I put Story as #2 because Final Fantasy Tactics, Breath of Fire III were some of my favorite video game stories.

#3 would be graphics.

graphics/multilayer game play

ill say gameplay but graphics have there spot, not as in OMG LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS, as in graphics that match the gameplay, minecraft would not be the same if it looked like crysis, and crysis would not be the same if it looked like minecraft

My order would be

Storyline
Game play
(somewhere right at the bottom) Graphics

Generally Storyline and Game play switches it up depending on the game.. if its an RTS game I would generally sway to the game play mechanics, if its a RPG game, it would have to be storyline.

here's my question, would people consider a form of physics a game play mechanic or graphics?
