The left diagram shows the standard 120mm push with 140mm center fan, which both pull and pushes air. The center diagram shows three fans: 120mm push, 140mm center and 120mm pull. The right diagram shows a 140mm in center and a 120mm fan in pull.

The following chart shows the temperatures achieved in the standard 4GHz overclock:

Fan_Sets_Push-Center_and_Center-Pull.png

Although the temps are comparable between push-center and center-pull, the center-pull has temps not quite as good as push-center.
This doesn't make sense... You're saying the left diagram is Center/Push and the right diagram is Pull/Center.

Then later, you claim this:
"center-pull has temps not quite as good as push-center"

but yet, in the graphs, it shows Pull/Center at 49.8c and Center/Push at 51.2c

Unfortunately, the diagram -- and the position of fans in a system -- run right to left, while the direction of reading is right to left. So when I write fan+fan+nofan, that means it is push-center. And nofan+fan+fan means center-pull.

Wouldn't you use "while < insert sentence >" to say something is different? because right to left and right to left is the same to me.

To me, this is Center/Pull http://assets.overclock.net.s3.amazonaws.com/7/72/728b3bad_vbattach133406.jpeg
And this is Push/Center http://techgage.com/reviews/noctua/nh_d14/noctua_nhd14_09_thumb.jpg

Just like you described in the diagrams, so I guess where things don't make sense to me is when fan+fan+nofan is called Center/Push in your graphs... should be Pull/Center.

Anyway, this is really annoying to explain and go back and forth to.. which one is the 49.8c reading, the first or second picture I linked? lol

Center = center
Push = Fan pushes air into cooler
Pull = Fan pulls air out of cooler

Airflow through the heatsink in most cases is right to left. So what you have labeled center-pull is actually push-center. The second is center-pull. Right to left, just like my diagrams. I even have airflow direction indicated in my diagrams -- the arrows indicate which way the air goes.

We read in the opposite direction, left to right. So you have to flip the flow mentally when you are going from reading (left to right) to the diagram (right to left). I'm sorry it's confusing, but for most cases the air flows right to left, the opposite of how we read.
