Need a cheap tripod

Thread Starter

Hi I've got a Cannon HF S200 and I need a new tripod, but I've got a really small budget. (Literally all my money went to the camera, lol) So in the price range of around $50, what's the best tripod? I use it for video capture mostly (more people visit the photo than video section, so I posted it here), so it would have to be slightly different than a normal camera tripod.

I was looking at this

which includes a couple of tri/mono pods for $60. Are they decent?

I was also looking at this , but it's only one for $50.

To be honest, for that price there's not really much you can get. You probably would be better off spending $20-$30 for one. At that price point, honestly the quality is more or less the same.

Grab a gorillapod and just save up for something decent.

Calumet tripods are pretty good, actually. I know both UIC and Columbia have them in their studios, and a friend of mine has had his for several years.

ive used the calumet one with a canon 50d and its rock solid. im sure it will hold your camcorder just fine. be warned...they are very heavy.

Looks nice, but too expensive.

Save another week and spend 30 bucks more. I'm not sure why people cheap out on tripods, you'll just end up buying twice.

I don't think you fully understand how absurdly low your budget is for a tripod. ~90 bucks really is still absurdly cheep. Just save for a week or two and get the 40 dollar more expensive one. Otherwise, when you're 50 buck tripod breaks in 6 weeks, you'll regret it.

Whats wrong with the ones i linked? There's a lot more at that price range with good reviews too.
And I can't save money, $50 is about all I can spend on it.
