Friend is building a new computer and needs recommendations for $1400est budget

My friend is building his first computer and I'm kinda out of the loop since I haven't upgraded in a few years. His budget is $1400 and he would like the computer to be great at photo and video editing along with having the power to play any new games at max quality. He is wanting to build around the i7 processor and doesn't need dual graphics but if it's budgeted great....just something that can run anything he throws at it. He doesn't have anything already so it's going to be a complete build from the ground up...no monitor or keyboard needed since he has those already. Thanks

He wants a nice case that is functional and keeps everything nice and cool. He does professional photography so it has to look nice in front of his clients.

My biggest thing is picking out the cpu cooler, power supply unit and the graphics card for him. The case is going to be up to him but any recommendations would be great. I'm thinking that the 560 TI or the GTX 570 would be great for him.

SO:

Motherboard:?
CPU:?
Power Supply:?
Cooling for computer:?
Graphics Card:?
Sound Card:?
Cooling for CPU:?
Hard Drive Setup:?
Case (up to him but recommendations please):?
DVD/Blue Ray Drive or just DVD drive:?
Case connection kit for hookups (easier setup for cable management):?
CPU thermal paste:?
DDR3 Memory:?

Anything else that I miss?

Does this setup look alright for my friend?

I forgot the DVD drive....would you recommend a Blue Ray drive or just a DVD drive? Can you play games on a Blue Ray drive?

The HAFs aren't really show off to client type cases while they are quite functional. I'd consider steering him toward Fractal and Lian Li designs for a more professional look. Unless you are absolutely dead set on a different processor family you really cannot go wrong with an i5 2500k.

For comparison, my sig rig was built on a 1300$ budget.

I would swap out the psu for a corsair hx750w. If clients are going to see the rig go for lian li or the Antec p180/183 or the Cm 690 II Advanced, drop the as5 as what comes with the megas is just as good, drop the caviar black and go with the samsung spinpoint f3

If he wants a flashy case with function as well as form, NZXT Phantom.
Cleaner, more pro look? Lian-Li's come to mind as well as the Raven RV-02.

GTX 570 is a great choice.
