Need a new board, mine could go boom boom

Thread Starter
I have a MSI 870-G45...4+1 phase power scary times with this thing. I need a new board, Something that is around $100 and can safely overclock my CPU to 3.8Ghz @ 1.5V-Core. Right now I have my CPU at stock for safety because I am too scared to overclock it at the moment. One of my buds "had" the same board as me. Any suggestions? I'm thinking To get an EVO? Not sure though.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131402 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131647

With a low TDP 65W processor such as the Athlon II x2 245 there's really no need to be that much concerned...unless your bud blew it with an Athlon II x2 or so

True, he had a Phenom X4 955 on the board, and it is 12:13 AM. So I think I am going a little loopy here. I will be definitely getting a Quad core AMD Black Edition in July. So I think I should now change the question to what would best fit a 965, or a 1090T?

Guess so. Gigabyte's GA-870A-UD3 is $5 cheaper than the M4A87TD EVO and would be a fair choice - however if you fancy CrossfireX, then the M4A79XTD EVO would have 8x-8x and be better if you run something more powerful than a 5770 for CFX... however no SATA3/USBIII, then again you might not use that anyway
