I think you missed my point. The cooling used in the MBP was shown to have issues before and seems highly inadequate given the hardware it is trying to cool. This very well could be a hardware issue and very typical of Apple to take the stand of "It's a software/driver issue" or "You're doing it wrong".

*Looks at sig rig*

Paid $1000 for it 3 YEARS ago.

Still faster than a $1000 mac today.

heh...

Yes your $1000 desktop is faster than an entry level laptop, congrats?

Comparison with a point. Getting the mac equivilant of my sig rig for what it's worth today ($500-600?) would be much much more. Buddy up there was saying all we do with our "expencive rigs" is go on facebook. We have the ability to do do more than just go on facebook. The point is moot because with a mac you literally pay $2000 just to go on facebook and you get less power.

Regardless, I'm anxious to see how they handle this, the way they have handled problems in the past have been less than good. Hopefully they step up and reward the sheeple for their loyalty.

generally any "high end laptop" mac or windows based will be slower than a desktop of equivalent cost. Nothing new.

You can do WAY more than go on facebook, and it's $1,000 for an entry level. But all that is moot because it has absolutely nothing to do with the issue at hand. Sorry for the redirection, I just wish comparisons and comments were made based on insightful points instead of trolling apple one liners.

I guess it is inevitable.

I'd like to hear more about these "abilities" that you speak of. The sarcasm (or what I hope is sarcasm) in your post suggest that all mac users can do is browse Facebook, while windows or possibly linux users can do so much more with their computers. My question to you is what do you do on your pc other than game that cant be done on a mac?

I'd rather just know why the macbooks are overheating, which models are effected and what the fix is.

I know what a mac can and can't do versus a PC, and you all should too.

Nice redirect, to the correct topic.

I'd like to know this too, especially since it's not affecting everyone.
