Hi from Racecar56

Thread Starter
I'm kind of a "noob" and I've been building comps only since somewhat recently. I mainly collect some old comps and make something useful out of them (look at my systems), and I recently built another comp (an AMD+ATI comp for a mid gamer).

Now I'll give you all the history of when I first got a comp until now.

I think my first comp was a Pentium III/Celeron-based system in about 2003 with Windows 98 SE which I think had PC133 RAM that died in a power surge. I believe the same happened to my 2nd comp...and I don't really remember anything much after that, until in 2005 when I got a Compaq SR1010Z with a Sempron which, according to file dates on the old HDD, died (I think it had its PSU explode ) after Jan or maybe Feb of 2008. Then was my AMD/ATI HP laptop w/Radeon Xpress 200 in ~2006, which if I remember properly, costed $1000. Later it had to get sent in for repair due to a keyboard-related reason (I think in '07). Instead of fixing it, they said that they didn't have a replacement keyboard for the outdated model. They dumped it (with all of my stuff ) and sent back a free dv9000 with Vi$ta Ultimate(ly a pain in the bum ) and the infamous Nvidia 2007 bug (which took effect in June/July 2010), and in June '08 I got an Acer Aspire M5630 (still have) that later blew its Q6600 CPU at Jan. 8th, 2010, that frightful night. Then I built myself an AMD comp to replace it...that got revamped over time.
And that's the end of the long story.

BTW I'm writing this on my SR1010Z, but this comp has been tweaked a lot since the time it had the PSU go BOOM.
