I cant seem to figure out how to set the macro keys on the BWU to open up specific folders, what Im doing now is just a work around since the software can be told to launch a specific .exe file, I ended up making a .exe that opens my downloads and other folders, is there a way to do this w/o resorting to my "brute force" method?

Go to manage macros, make new, then hit the record button. You will want to check he box that says ignore delays between events during recording as well. Now after you hit record you'll go to folder that you want the macro to open. When you get it, hit stop. Then assign it a key and you are done.
EDIT: If that doesn't work, hit record, then the left window button and the "r" key (which is command for run, then type in the folder you'd like to assign, (for example "C:\\Program Files) then enter. Then hit stop record and then assign it to key. Now test it by using that key to open the folder.

Neither solutions work for me nor I get the desired result, since it relies on recorded actions I get to see the steps taken before I reach the folder. The .exe file I made just brings me to the folder right away no extra steps no windows popping up. I guess this is not possible with the BWU's software? Logitech had it in their drivers though, pretty easy to use.

I found a solution to this!
It is possible to launch shortcuts, BUT the shortcuts are not shown in the list of programs in the dialog box, unless they open an exe.
BUT you can type there full name in the text field. This way you can access shortcuts to other file types.
Using this I can open anything with the macro's, even scripts that open a whole bunch of programs.
I used to open a vbs script that says through my speakers what I'm opening.
I hope this helps someone.
