[Windows 7] 2500k & X6 Bigadv Folding w/ Native Linux Client - Page 12

I'm having a bit of difficulty. I've tried following the guide to this point. But I get this:

I've gone over the syntax several times and can't find anything I've entered different from this step:

Quote:
cat /proc/stat | awk 'BEGIN { TARGET_NCPUS=8 } ; { if ($1 == "intr") { for (i=NR-2;i<TARGET_NCPUS;i++) print "cpu" i S } ; S="" ; for (i=2;i<=NF;i++) S=S " " $i ; print }' > /tmp/stat.save

I'm getting closer. When I followed all the steps, it went into a loop of looking for work, but not finding any. It never asked me how I wanted to configure.

When I put the command in to configure, it won't let me make any changes

I can't be certain, but I'd try that command without the extra flags...just '-configonly'. Once you've got the client configured, then you can add the other flags back in...

It looks like the fah client doesn't like the underscore in your name.

If anyone is near a linux PC with fah on it they could confirm this. You may have to change your user name, or a linux guru might know how to get round this problem (like putting it in quotes for example).

Edit: First, try removing every file in the directory except fah6 and run the config again. This time run

cd /fah
./fah6 -configonly

Don't run with nohup

Then if that works create a .sh file to run fah with -bigadv -smp6 at the end.
I now only have fah6 in the fah folder. A little different issue now. I get to the end of configuring
Quote:

and then it goes back into the configure loop without any saved info.

I've been using "curve_in" for the last two weeks with the regular smp client

you need to run it with "sudo" because it's on the / directory not your home directory (/home/user)

FahCore_78 isn't a bigadv core. I think we almost have this though.

Delete fahcore_78 from the /fah directory and then try running it again, but this time try swapping the smp and bigadv flags round.

./fah6 -bigadv -smp 6

Also, make sure you only run the 8 core script once. Like jedi said, if you run it twice it will think you only have 1 core and download a unicore client.

The way I check to see if i've already run it or not is with htop. Install it with apt (sudo apt-get install htop) and then just run it. In the top left it will list your cores and their useage, the useage will be broken because of the script but it should still list 8.
