[Windows 7] 2500k & X6 Bigadv Folding w/ Native Linux Client - Page 24

that would be amazing. im trying. but tbh this is so completely foreign to me idk if i can pull it off. I'd really like to use my rig for something besides gaming and I fold with the normal everyday client and i dig the cause but...sigh

I have to restart now. turn on virtual machines in bios ????

i found this nice preconfigured non-gui linux image here:

http://www.linuxforge.net/docs/crunching/fah-vmware.php

just open it in vmware and you're basically set.
hope that helps.

I used to use the non-GUI VM mentioned in this thread but IDK if it would work now, without updating the F@H client, as we've moved on from using the a3 core WUs...

If anyone knows Linux enough to update that, then it'd be really easy for anyone wanting to use M$ as their main OS but still make the most of the Linux boost for Folding PPD...

i'd much rather use my cpu for folding, but I can't figure this out. i guess I'll just v7 on my gpu. i think i even managed to screw that one up. i do have a steam id. im off all weekend. maybe i can still get this figured.

If you have a gpu that is compatible for folding then use both CPU and GPU to get a good PPD =). That's what I did with my testing machine in the lab 4 tesla running plus 1 smp on the 24 cores CPU.

i stopped gpu folding because i heard it would limit my bigadv results. also it's summer and folding on an overclocked 470 makes my fishtank boil.
