little defensive aren't we?

They are alum and worth the money... if you have money to waste.

I would never buy one...

So buy a PC

It's more of a fear that one day I'll wake up and there will be red shirts in my room and they'll be taking my desktop and netbook and replace them with macs that are impossible to install even a Linux distro on. The macs won't play Blurays, mkvs, FLAC, mp3, and I won't be able to choose my web browser along with all of my programs and hardware will start with "i" while the webcam built in to these devices is always on looking at me to make sure I don't step out of line and doubt GodJobs or the Apple way. The world would end up with everyone dressing the same and being the same.

I used to hate windows/MS but they scare me less than Apple.

The "alum" is for what purpose? To look pretty and provide less protection than plastic for parts like your HDD from a drop or overheating the thing.

If I "have money to waste" it would be on a Sager/Digital Storm/XoticPC/Clevo/etc or something I build myself.

So, please OP don't think you're missing out. The only time a mac is good is when you're using a school model and realize how easy it is to circumvent the controls they have in place on them. Like you couldn't install a program without the right account in windows. Well, on a mac you could just use certain versions that are "live" and enjoy. Or you got Linux to work on it while not having to pay a cent for it.
